Dear participants,

On behalf of the Regional Center for Talented Youth Belgrade, I am pleased to invite you to send a team to the 14th International Geography Olympiad (iGeo), which will be held in Belgrade from 2 to 8 August 2017, under the auspices of the International Geography Union Olympiad Task Force.

The iGeo will be an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the geographical knowledge and skills of the best students representing your country, to reward the most prominent young geographers of the world, and to promote professional contacts within the worldwide geographical education community.

Each team will include four secondary school students aged between 16 and 19 years old on 30 June 2017. Students must be selected through a national geography competition. Students who participate more than once must gain selection each time through their national competition. A student may participate no more than twice. The students will be accompanied by two adult team leaders who are involved in geographical education in their country, and who can write and speak English. For more details, please see the Statutes at www.geoloympiad.org.

Countries are responsible for their own travel, visas and insurance. In addition, a contribution of 285 EUR per person (for each student and team leader) is payable as a contribution to local expenses. The deadline for the fee payment is 15 May 2017. Details on making the payment will be given to teams after their applications have been approved.

After the iGeo, an optional 5-day post-iGeo fieldtrip is being planned. If enough countries are interested, a fieldtrip around Serbia may be offered, with special emphasis on the beautiful geographical, cultural and historical features of Serbia. More information on the post-iGeo fieldtrip will be available on the official website of the iGeo 2017.

We look forward to welcoming you to the iGeo in Serbia in 2017.
